Mechanism of Action
Enalapril inhibits the conversion of angiotensin I to the vasoconstrictor angiotensin II. Hydrochlorothiazide promotes the excretion of sodium and water in the kidneys. Combined, they reduce systemic vascular resistance and plasma volume.
